Sir.—£!v the deputation of ladie-s who raited on the Council about croquet lawns: In the minutes it says "at a meeting held on July Pith it was uaaiiimoaslv decided that a deputation wait on the f'ivuiicil and propose that the Council utilise a portion of carnival funds to bu- two sections on Mill Road, for croquet' lawns and an entrance." The deputation acted as instructed, but as the Council did not discuss the domain question at this meeting, at the invitation of a Councillor, those members of the deputation, who were able «t.teudsd the next meeting of the Council, one member being particularly chosen because of he-r wide experience with municipal clubs.
