GOLF BALL.
A ClkJ_iix' ijvJUCLSS. ! Th c Otaki Coif Club's ball, held in the tneatre last night, was a brilliant affair from every standpoint, and the large gathering spent a thoroughly enjoyable time. The decorations, consisting chiefly of the club's colours, were very effective, while part of the theatre was set out as a drawing-room and proved a pleasing rendezvous for tired dancers and others. The floor was highly polished while tho Tahiwi orchestra supplied very line music' The supper ariungemulils were complete and the appetising spread was fully appreciated. One of the main features of the gathering were the lovely dresses of tho ladies, which were freely admired. .VPany w eye exquisitely, gowned, ami glowing comments cere heard on all sides. Among t-hose present were quite a number from Levin, while Palmerston Xorth, Shannon, and the lower end of this district were particularly well represented. Credit for the success of liie affair is due to (lie ladies who worked so well, while -Mr. Sid Sicver* made a capable See-rotary.
