In a few days another consignment will be sent to'the city. The lambing per contage has boon very satisfactory and Mr. Staples claims to have secured 100 per cent. Miss Ruby Bevan is at present on a holiday visit to Christchurch. The'"cow cockies" have had a successful run this season, and many have received very substantial bonuses. Among the visitors to fhe farewell social on "Wednesday were Messrs Andrew and Hunter, who are now in business in Shannon. Thoy received a hearty welcome from old acquaintances. Miss Grcatbatch, of Wellington, sister to Mrs. Robt. Bevan, is holidaynJuking here. The ladies at Wednesday night s social are to be congratulated on their splendid work. Several worked energeticallv, and It was largely due to their eil'orts that the function was so successful.
