OBITUARY.
ARTHUR JOHN MARSHALL, AGED 52 YEARS. The death occurred on Saturday morning at his residence of Mr. Arthur John Marshall, who hud been the proprietor of the Jubilee Hotel for ilie past five months, during which time he had made many friends. The deceased, who was born in the South Island, had been a leading sport in his younger days, and besides being the owner of several leading trotting horses was a /prominent footballer; lie was president of several clubs, and proprietor of-leading hotels at' Rakaia and Kaikonra, and i; was during his stay i,i those places (hai lie made hosts'of friends, lie was. however, not in the best of health when he arrived in Otaki, liut still lie never complained, -and only about three weeks ago to.A to his bed. He failed Io rally and passed away on Saturday morning. HeI ceased. who «as 52 years of ago. leaves a w idow and a, grown up family, i one sou residing at Levin, another at j Christchurch, while a daughter lives j it Otaki. The funeral took place at j Otaki this afternoon.
