Hall last nigiit, when there was a splendid attendance, the hall being < crowdi i.ith pleasure-suckers, incluu- ' ing :t large C( ■■■"'. i. ■ a Otaki and - a number from Levin and Ohati. ! i The interior of the building had been , very prettily decorated for the occasion, . Mrs. L. H. Atkins and Mrs. Smith being responsible, while the evening dresses worn by the ladies were freely commented upon, Messrs H. G. Bryant, ii.Kvans, and A. Scbolcs n ere capable M'.s.C. while the Rikihana orchestra, of Otaki, supplied excellent music. Mr. L. H, Atkins, as Secretary, ably fulfilled his multifarious duties, while the supper committee.' consisted of .Mesdamcs Bryant, Burnell, Clifford, Inge, Wnlshnvv, Swainsoti, Evans and Miss Houghton. All worked energetically in catering for the wants of the large crowd. During the evening a waltzing competition was held and created interest, and the judges. -Miss Huwkings and Mr. Swanee, had by no means nn easy task. After due deliberation the verdict was rgivon in favour of Mr. V. Karauti and Mrs. Huntley. Dancing was kept going merrily till one o'clock this morning, when all left .voyv.ing the function to be "the event of file season." j Apologies for unavoidable .absence
