j On Thursday night, 9th lust, citizens , of Otaki will have the opportunity of witnessing the performance of the ] Loyal Entertainers. According to press reports this is a company of talented performers, headed by Mr. Tom Je i uni.who is billed as the famous Maori comedian. Mr. To Funi gained this j title in America, where he appeared in j ail the hauling theatres in that country, ( for (ft years, appearing under the mail- j 'j ageiuent of well known linns. It is ( needless to remark that Te Funi must . .• have gained extensive experience by j, it is associations with performers of , world-wide fame, with whom he appear- _j ed on many programmes. Before going r to America he performed throughout .\cv.' Zealand with Fullers, and with } Birch and Carrol in Australia. ( Another big attraction is Belwyu, “The Mystery Man.” who presents a y new and novel entertainment. tlis 2 tricks and illusions are performed in i a wonderfully clean and clever manner. ;l The Sydney Bulletin described him as j a veritable king of cards mid coins, a Uis manifestations with such objects f as thimbles. handkerchiefs, watches, ,| etc., are nothing short of murveilous. Welwyn was an officer in the late grpnt war and had the honour of appearing s several times before .(loyalty. He also f presents a novelty, whih should intet- j. est the ladies, as he shows them how' to make pictures out of 'heir old cloths, l and also out of such household utensils :i as brooms, clothes pegs, combs, etc. He v is also a clever cartoonist and creates no cud of full with a piece of chalk. He is assisted in his entertainment bv 1 that clever and amusing assistant, 1 Norm. Lane, in fact the act is brimful s of laughter from start to finish. Anoth- \ er delightful performer is M-> Elsie Prime, a charming Liigiisu vocalist. 1 Miss Prince possesses a very pleasing b soprano voice uuii will be heard in the latest songs us well us sumo of the c favourites. Halbert, described as au I ‘ ‘ esc.apeolugist w ill present some be- .- wildering feats with ropes, handcuffs, c etc., and will introduce his famed Fillrov illusion, also his challenge ‘‘Mail 1 Hag Escape.” This is something different from the usual run of handcuff- c kings’ work. Ellice and Fee are a t brilliant comedy couple and they soon t become linn favourites with every class 1 of audience. Their topical illusions are j screamingly I unity, whilst their dun- - cing is certainly a revelation. Miss' t jAuiy WullrauH, the bijUliaut accon<- > j paniste, will render the musical portion * ) of a delightful programme. As the public is assured of a pleasant evening, this company is certain to receive a hearty welcome.
