RIKIORANGI.

On July 2nd. the pupils of the Kikiorangi School much appreciated the opportunity given them of hearing the speeches of the King and Queen as recorded by "His Master's Voice" Company on a granuiphone, kindly lent by the head master (Mr. Howard). Both speeches could be clearly heard, and it is hoped that the good advice, given therein, will be taken to heart by the boys and girls. The rest of the afternoon was given to the hearing of the best records of world-famous singersCaruso, Clara Butt, Melba, etc. This last week has been line with frosfy nights and mornings. The thermometer registered, on the grass. 10, 3, 6, 13, 10 degrees, on successive nights. Possum trappers have been meeting with varying success, but the lute lively frosty weather is all to the good from the trapper's point of view.
