1 ♦ . ANNTTA.ij I'iXJETINGr ; The annual meeting of (lie Otttki low ling- Club, held on Wednesday night n the Council Chambers, was attended >r some twenty members. Hr. T. .I'Kourke (President) presided. Report and Balance Sheet. The annual report and balance sheet, ts read, were considered very satisfactory. The report rend as follows: — ••I have much pleasure in submitting lie following report and balance sheet for the year ending March SI. l'd-S: At the commencement of the term the number of members was -11. while during the season eight new members joined, four resigned, and two left the district, leaving on the roll 4.'). ol which 10 are financial. The green was opened bv the Vice-President on September both, when several visitors was pres ent from other club*. During the sea son we have hail visits from Kaiaitai, Kurori. Levin and shannon, and we made return visits to Kurort, but unfortunately the weather stopped otl-.et visit* after making arrangements. The Levin Club sent a rink and took hack the Feathers with them. Russell V Cup was again played for and was -won by the town members. Mr. Smith eipressed jratitude for ths emarkj and said although ho had not dayei for two years ho } itronised the ;reeo almost as much as anyone.. 1! - favoured a younger and mors aetict nember as president. Mr. O’Kourke asked that ATr. Smith withdraw his objection, while Afr. Davies spoke of the help and sound advice given by Air. t-rnith at till titiios. Mr. Brandon said no doubt the older members would have to give way to younger ones and he would, with all due respect to Air. Smith, .support the appointment of a younger member. Afr. Bills pointed out that it was the custom to appoint the vice-president as president, and moved ATr. Brantley 1-c elected. This was seconded by Mr. Xobie. Air. Brandon then proposed Mr. Satherlev. who, he said, had worked hard for years past nml was known by till as a very enthusiastic member. Mr. A. .Smith seconded, but Mr. Satlierle.v declined eiKef. agreeing to support Mr. Brantley's nomination. Messrs Bat and Freeman were then nominated, but dee-lined to accept the otlitso. after which Mr. Bromley tvtu appointed admist avplatise.
