THE CARNIVAL.
CORONATION CEREMONY. The crowning ceremony in connection with the Queen Carnival will take place at the theatre to-morrow night, and ii is expected that the building will be crowded. Last night a rehearsal was held, Mr Cyril Day, Master of Ceremonies, being present. All parts were Well sustained, both ladies and gentlemen ably carrying out their duties. Sonieof the performers, however, will need to speak louder, otherwise the effect will be lost, while the grouping can be improved on. Those knighted also carried out their parts well and with one or two minor defects remedied the scene to-morrow night will be a very spectacular one. The competition for an oil painting (valued at £5), held by the Railway queen committee (caused a deal of interest. and was won by Mr .1. List. The total number of votes polled was 25.3.52. and his number was 2s,:;mi. Mr List has generously donated the prize back to the committee.
