RAGiNG CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. keen interest by members. NAME CHANGED TO “LEVIN RACING CLUB. The annual general meeting of Hie Horowherma Racing Club was held in St Mary’s, Hall on Friday, the president, Mr J. McLeavey, being in the chair. There was an attendance of over 70 members. An apology for unavoidable absence "'as received front Mr W. S. Park. the- FINANCIAL POSITION. The report and balance sheet was road by the secretary, Mr \\ . Bull. The report congratulated members and officials upon a successful year s | working. During the year substantial improvements had been effected at the course by way of lavatories, making the .conveniences quite up t.o i date Reference was made to the suei cess or the Mardi Gras. The whole of the money raised would be spent in ■ permanent improvements n,t. ihe course i and grounds. The stewards had not ; lost sight of a two days’ meeting and i this year had again applied for a second day’s racing, which had been approved'of by the District Committee and are subsequently to come before the conference for consideration. Ihe reuort impressed upon members, how necessary it was to keep their subscriptions paid up in order that the Club's funds may be always in a flourishing condition. The receipts were as follow: —rote revenue £1177 17s 6d, privileges £405 14s 6d, norm and accepts. £2f>l ss, members' subs. £177 6s, tote fractions £63 Os 6d. fines £1; total £2116 3s 6d. On vacating die cliair, Mr McLeavey thanked the stewards and officials for

To the secretary Mr Waller Bull, Ihev wore indebted for his whole-hearted exertions on behalf.of ihe club. Two of the stewards who had given valuable service were Messrs Day and Nicholson, whilst Mr t Procter was especially deserving of thanks for the excellent work be had done iri connection with the Mardi Gras.
