O’Rourke deputv-Maycr for Otaki. a:.*: in doing so said it was the usual thing for the Chairman of the Finar.c-e Commit let to fake this position. He pointed out that Cr. O’Bottrke was a man of leisure, well up in finance, and conversant with the procedure of local bodies. Cr. O’Rourke, in accepting the position, thanked all for the honour conferred upon him,- and said he would do his best. *
