A pleasant livening was »peni on Wednesday night at "the kiosk." when there was i, lurge attendance. The progranftne was opened by the Mayor, who introduced the Queen candidate and wished her success. Three cheer* were then called for h*.-r. Dancing then commenced, while during the evening Mi-, Berrill sang " For the Green," and astonished lier audience wit!; h.-r full, rich voice. She responded to an emphatic encore with "Willi You Think Sometimes." >h.- v;u~ ably accompanied by Miss Kilsby. Sir Tahiwi al>o sang very nicely and re- , eeived an encore. The Hawaiian hand. with Messrs Tews and Jones, contributed largely to the evening's enjoyment, the harmony of the instruments being • very fine. Extras were played by Mu- . sea Cotterell and Mr Pirimi Tahiwi. ; The Beach residents, along with the Committee, provided a most sumptuous supper.
