HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

MONTHLY MEETING

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Council was held at Wellington yesterday. Present: Crs. H. D. Atkinson (chairman). A. I, aiackay, ,T. Whiteman, C. I. Limbrick, H. Foley! A. E. Edwards. The Cnspeetor's report, which was adopted, was a.- follows: Si : :.-e my last report very lytic outside ordinary maintenance work has been done. The heavy rain on Sunday lasl caused most of the rivers and streams to become very much swollen, and a '-vine.- ai Cooley's creek was washed out. The Hutt-Waikauao road was reported blocked with fallen timber, but noth-

ing of a serious nature has been reported so far. As a result of an application from the Railway Department to have a drain opened up near the old

cheese factory at Paraparaumu 1 inspected the drain and found it in a very foul state. The drain passes under the main road and evidently did at

one time flow through the property on tin- opposite side- of the road, ami quite near to a large milking shed, the result being there is no outlet :i> the drain is

completely filled up by cows going to aad from the she,l. The trouble is that:
