TWO MEN ARRESTED.

CHARGED WITH THEFT. Two men—John Wilson aud George Gurdeuer —the latter with several convictions, were arrested yesterday by Constable Satherlcy and to-day charged before Messrs M. Carkee'k and J. K. Bills, J's.P., with the theft of an over coat, value £5, the property of Albert Robinson, of Paraparaumu. Wilson was also charged with being drunk and Gardener with being a rogue and a vagabond.

Evidence by C. P. Jensen and Frank Evans proved that the men tried to sell them tmts and a Chinese pen, and later went to Mr Robinson's car and took the coat. The theft took rdnce opposite the sale yards, and in broad daylight.

The accused were each sentenced t< six months imprisonment.
