SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
OTAKI. Only seventeen householders attended the annual meeting for the election of a committee for Otaki on Monday night. The Rev. R. P. Keall was voted to the chair. Mr Bills (Chairman of Committee) reported: — •'•I have much pleasure in presenting to you the following report of work done during the past year. We hav< j had a very good attendance at meel I higs. Daring the year wo have had all round the school top-dressed, and asphalting done by the Borough Council Good work was done which proved vu 2 satisfactory. We had the annual priz* giving at the school' on ihe breaking-up Vy. when quite a large number of parents were present. AH were pleased to sec the children had done such good work as there were a largo uumbci 01 certificates and prizes presented. Wt • also have to thank Mr Morse for giving us a fine picture display towards funds for prizes and picnic fund. We held the picnic at the beach and although the weather v. as not quite all that could be desired, one and all made the best o: it and spent an enjoyable time. We : have lo thank the parents and friends of the children who so generously donated food and gave money, and helped ! to make the affair a success. The Committee have applied to the Educa- ' tion Board for increased accommodation at the school, as wo arc very cramped
for room owing lo the attendance being so large. We would urge the incoming committee to keep this in view as it is urgently needed for the good of the children and teaching staff. The Committee wish to thank the headmaster and staff for the good work done
during the year.'' Mr Barlow considered the report very gratifying, and moved a hearty vote of thanks lo the committee for their splendid work.
The balance-sheet, which showed ri satisfactory state of affairs, was adopted.
The following were elected a committee:—Mrs Bills, Messrs J. R. Bills, W. H. Reynolds, F. W. Targu.se, R. Barlow (secretary), Revs. Pctrio and Keall. Mr Reynolds stated it was his intention to resign, but the Chairman said that the matter was one for the committee to deal with.
At a meeting of the Committee, Itch afterwards. Mr J. R- Bills was re-elect cd Chairman.

The meeting of houschlders at Paraparsuvmu was a poorly-attended one, but the report on the school was considered highly satisfactory. Two old members of the committee—Mr C. V. Reeve, who has had nine years' service, and Mr Len HoWell, at one time secretary resigned, and were accorded hearty votes of thanks tor past services. The new committee is as follows: —Messrs K. Maclean (chairman), Bug. Howell (secretary), J. Killiek, I". Howell, E. Clarke, W. Clunie, and J. Buckley,
