CHASING A BRIDE.
AN UNREHEARSED INCIDENT. The contracting parties at a recent wedding festivity in Podding, anxious to escape the attacks of battalions ol friend.- armed with confetti, arranged with the chauffeur to have the engine, of the bridal car running, so that by a sudden dash from a side door, they
could escape. The engine was purring expectantly when the bride dashed through tile crowd into the car. and slammed the door. The chaffeur imagining “all aboard’’ was sounded, made a record in acceleration, and away! But the bridegroom! If ever a man was filled with confetti it teas he! Hemmed in on all sides he was given his and the bride’s share also. His protests, struggles, and mental anguish at the thought of his bride being whisked away so early from his side, produced a state bordering on collapse, and he presented a rare sight with the confetti clinging to him like ivy to a damp wall. He managed, at last, to break the cordon and the last the crowd saw was a distracted husband, whose head and shoulders were the colours of the rainbow, I sprinting up to the street after his bride. :
