CROQUET.
CLOSE OF THE SEASON.
| The croquet season, as far as Otaki i concerned, was brought to a close on f iturdsy when a number of ladies ■. acod the green and indulged in pleasja.,t" games. At the afternoon tea adI journment, Mr George Bramley, Vicei President, pointed out that he had a pleasant duty to perform in the presen- , Itation of prizes. The ladies, he added, I had had a vary successful season and ' had finished all competitions, which i was more than could be said for the bowlers. They had all enjoyed the i sport and he hoped they would continue to do so. Mr Bramley then moved a I> hearty vote of thanks to the ladies who had always been ready and willing to supply aftemoo* tea, not only to local I sports, but to visiting bowlers alse. He I then asked that a warm vote of appreei- ' ation bo accorded Mrs Bills, who had proved an energetic secretary. The compliment was suitably acknowledged. Following are the prize-winners:— Doubles: Mrs Noble and Mrs Nicolson 1; Mrs Atkinson and Mrs Tattersall 2. Singles: Miss Whiteman 1, Mrs Bramley 2. Most breaks: Mrs Da vies: "B" grade: Mrs Evans 1, Mrs Tattersall 2. Prizes, very substantial ones, were donated by Mesdames Cook, Bramley, Siddells, Noble, Bills, Ollivor, Witchell, Atkiusen and Mr "Whiteman.
