SPORTS AND DOMAIN.

To the Editor. Sir,- —I was pleased to see the ‘Mail’ article and the letter of correspondence in recent issues dealing with the domain and sport in general. I think also that we should have our bowling, tennis, croquet, and'cricket greens on the domain. It would vastly improve what is now nearly as bad as the rest resort. "With such grounds, a running track, etc., things would look decent, and prove an attraction. Could not

the Council give a lead.' While writing may I also mention that the Best Resort committee is deserving of hearty congratulations for the very capable way it looks after its. grounds. The lawn round the cannon is neat and well kept, the rose-bed is a perfect picture — one no ariist can paint—while the shrubs are well sheltered by the lung grass. The rotunda look* very nice, and the library is an acquisition to the grounds. It only wants a little more push to make the resort second to none in New Zealand.—l am, etc., XUFF SED.
