PERSONAL.

The funeral uf the late Mr “Bob” Hunter took place at Waikauac on Friday, and was attended by many friends.

Mr W. is. Anderson, County Engineer, has suilered a nervous breakdown, and leaves on Wednesday for a mouth’s holiday.

Mr and Mrs J. P. Brandon (Mayor and Mayoress) expect to leave on Saturday for the Hawke’s Bay district, after which they will visit Kotorua and other places of interest.

The funeral of the late Mr George Thomas, of the literary stall' of the “Ecvin Chronicle,” took place on Saturday afternoon, where there was a large and representative following, among the uuuiber being several relatives, the proprietors of the “Chronicle,” representatives of various local bodies and organisations, while the pall bearers were work-mates of the deceased. The Kev. Mr Davies and Mr T. Brown conducted the last sad rites at the graveside, while a number of beautiful floral tributes were placed on the cotiiu.
