MEETING OF MAORIS. Hi> Worship the Mayor (Mr Brandon) has received tiie following letter from Mr Clutha Mackenzie:— “I am afraid i! is not possible for me to come in the immediate future to heid a meeting of Maoris at Otaki. I should like to do so very much, but my p:ogramme takes me right up beyond G sborne without a break. If it is not leaving the matter too lute. 1 should lire to come in June, when 1 am visitii g a number of tow ns again in the Wellington and Taranaki districts. Many tl'.anks for your splendid reception of oar schemes in Otaki and many thanks, too. for your good hospitality. 1 greatlj enjoyed my day there. —Yours sinctrelv, Clutha Mackenzie.”
