OTAKI SURF CLUB.
T A meeting of the committee of tho above was held in the Council Chambers la: t night, Mr J. P. Brandon presiding. There were also present Messrs W. H. ■Wills, C. E. Cotterell, G. Evans, R. Heald and E. Mosley (secretary). A letter was read from Mr Ralph Smith (instructor) stating that ho would be in Otaki on the 10th inst. to instruct the loeol team.
i Mr Evans suggested that a large marquee be erected on carnival day and soft drinks, etc., sold, considering such would be remunerative. —Decided to leave tho matter in the hands of Messrs I Wills, Heald, Evans, Tahiwi and tho | Secretary, who will also act as an entertainment committee, j Messrs Cotterell, Heald and Evans j were appointed a management commit- . I tee, and Messrs Cotterell, Wills, the ' Chairman and Secretary to canvass for ■ trophies. The Chairman undertook to secure the services of tho Otaki Brass . I Band for carnival day.
It was reported that Mr Byron Brown has offered £5, while two donations of £1 Is each were also promised. Mr 11. Nicolson was added to the list of vice-presidents, while Mr M. Baker was appointed assistant-secretary.
