Mr W. Sotheran, late of Otaki, lias taken over the Dominion Hotel at Kaponga, Mr and Mrs E. Looser leave Oinki to-day, and in consequence the business premises will be closed till Thursday. Mr Douglas McGonagle, of Wanganui; has been spending a few days with friends in Otaki. The engagement is announced of.Mi s Annie Hagan, fifth daughter of Mr E. Hagan, to Mr Charles Ivor Thomson, both.of To Horo. Mrs Hagan and Miss Hagan : leave this week for a trip to the South Island. They intend spending several weeks in Motueka, then travelling by motor over the Kaikora.- and rc-tnr-via Lyttelton.
