KARORI v. OTAKI. One of the most enjoyable matches of the season took" place on Saturday when the above teams met on a very keen green and in perfect weather. Mr M. Spiers, President of the Karori Club,

welcomed the visitors, and at the conclusion of the day’s play Mr Freeman j returned' thanks, calling for cheers for the Club and the ladies. The visitors wore entertained with light refreshments oil arrival, afterwards at luncheon and afternoon tea. Only 16 heads were played in the following games, scores as follows, Otaki being mentioned first in each ease: —

. McGill, Williams, Freeman, Noble (s) v. Whithair, Lqckett, Laird, Roberts (s) —19—IS. This was an even game for a time, then Otaki had the advantage of 19 —10 on the 13th head. After this Karori scored eight on the last three heads.

Hawea, Irving, Heald, Bills (s) v. Brudnock, Campbell, Fulton, Cooper (s), 13—19. Karori opened with a five and on the 7tli bead were 12—0. In the concluding stages Otaki got two fours, a three, and a single.

Nicolson, Siddells, Kilmister, Olliver (s) v. Read, Mclntosh, Watchman, Crawford (s), 15 —14, This was an even game throughout. Gooding, Whiteman, Smith, Windley (s) v. Johnson, Sunlev, Cathie, Burn (s), 10—IS. Karori had the advantage from the lead and ou the 14th head were 1-3—4. Otaki scored six ou the
