Conslable Satherley, who has been in indifferent health, will remain on duty in Otaki, having been appointed to the sole charge for the Otaki sub-district.
The death occurred on Monday of Airs Baker, mother to Mr Matcnga Baker, of Otaki. Deceased was wellknown and highly respected. A tangi is now in progress.
The death has occurred at Wellington of Mr J. D. Cruiekshank, for many years a well-known resident of Wairarapa, and brother to Mrs ,1. Cr. Stevens, late of Otaki.
Mr Henry K. Lawry, until his retirement some ten years ago a well-known officer of the Bank of New Zealand. died at Karaka Uay on Saturday evening, in his seventieth year. iiis service with the bank extended over fifty years. The family consists of three sous, -Messrs Hugh Lawry.lot Christchurch), Leslie Lawry (Stoke), and Hollo Lawry <Te Horo) —and two daughters. Mrs F. Al. Corkill (of the Malay States, who is now in Wellington), and Miss Kathleen Lawry (who resides with her mother at Karaka Bay). The late Mr Lawry was a brother of Mr \V. F. Lawry, chief inspector of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agence Co. in Australia, the Kev. Albert C. Lawry. of Christ,-hurch, and Mr Joseph Lawry, of Auckland.
