CASE OF ANTHRAX IN WAIKATO. Hamilton, January 0. A young man named Kyle, aged ~'o, has been in the Waikato Hospital for several days suffering from a malignant sore on bis forehead. This has now been diagnosed as anthrax. An operation was performed and recovery is assured. The source of infection has not been traced. Anthrax is a virulent infectious disease occurring mostly in cattle, sheep. and other herbivora, but communicable to man. It may be either external or internal. In the former case the complete excision • of the area affected is practised to prevent the affection becoming general. In the internal form recovery is very rare.
