A FLATTERING TRIBUTE.
NEW ZEALAND CHEESE. WELL-RECEIVED BY CANADIANS. A short time ago an address was given at Almonte, Ontario, by Mr J. A. Ruddiek, Deputy-Minister for Agriculture in Canada, in the course of which he expressed the opinion that at no distant date New Zealand was likely to be one of the biggest exporters of cheese in the British Empire Mr Ruddiek sx)oko as one well acquainted with conditions, as he was Chief Dairy Commissioner in New Zealand towards the end of the 'nineties of last century. | Mr Harold Beauchamp, of the firm of W. M. Bannatyue and Co., Ltd., of Wellington, showed the following letter he had received from Hiram Walker and Sons, Ltd., of Walkcrville, Ontario, to a "Times" representative yesterday:— "Some time ago, our Mr W. I. Lin-j ton, when in New Zealand, spoke of the excellence of the New Zealand cheese. J We think, perhaps, that he spoke of I the matter to you. At that time - we mentioned that we should be very glad to sample this cheese, and Mr Linton arranged for a small consignment to come over to us. There was a good deal of unavoidable delay in the matter, but the cheese has now come to hand. We feel that you might be interested in knowing out opinion of the cheese, for it is undoubtedly the finest of any imported cheese that we have ever had here, and reflects great credit on its • manufacturers, Mr McKenzie, of the ' "United States (Australasia) Rubber !' Company, and Mr Magnus, of the Mag- j nus Motors, Limited, were very kind in looking after this shipment for us, and we have also written them expressing ' our appreciation and thanks." ,
