Dr. Pomarc, M.l’., was among the visitors to Otaki to-day. Archbishop Redwood will conduct a coulirmution service at the Roman Catholic Church on Sunday. Mr Alex Bills, who has been ill for some wc.-k. past, is making good recovers- and hopes shortly t;j return to business. Mr Ben Ling, who has been on an extended holiday to California, returned by the Tahiti last week, after spending t. most enjoyable time. Mr \V. Dredge, letter-carrier, ha- received notice of transfer from the Otgki post office, and leaves at an early date i U T Stratford. During his term at Otaki he has proved very obliging. Mr Ray Bills severed iris oognpetiou with the P.O. on Saturday. The Rev. Father Fitzgibbou. of Levin. has received a cable conveying the sad news of the death of hi.- father tn Ireland. Father Fitzgibbon, who will have the fullest sympathy of his local friends in his loss, has gone to Christchurch. where his sister 'is a member of the Sacred Heart Convent.

Sister Lewis, writing to friends in Otaki. reports that she is well, and that on the voyage Home she had a lovely trip, and was successful in winning several prizes .at competitions. The valuable Maori prayer-book, given to her by the Native.- of Otaki, was greatly admired by Londoners, also the many other gifts that she took with her. Sister Lewis hopes to visit the war cemeteries in France early in the New Tear,
