BOWLING.

Owing to the heavy rain on Saturday morning it was decided that no play take place, but early in the day the weather broke fine and in consequence a number of bowlers were on the green. It was agreed, however, that no Cup mutches tako place for the day. The two rinks present had fair J games, light, showers and a heavy green j being against them. An Easter Tournament. I

During the day a meeting was held, Mr Geo. Bramley presiding. Several new members were elected. A deal of correspondence was handed in by the Secretary, but as it was dated October 30th and November 7th it was treated as received. A letter from the Blenheim centre stated that a Marlborough team would visit Wellington during the season, probably early in February. The Wanganui centre stated that a team would also be sent to the City. A letter was read from the Wellington centre stating that the Queensland bowlers, -10 in number, would arrive on the 18th December, while it was also expected that New South Wales bowlers would shortly arrive. It was agreed to send rinks, if possible, to play in Wellington against the visitors. It was thought advisable to hold a pairs tournament at Easter, it being agreed that there was every prospect of such a fixture being highly successful. The Secretary notified that the new roller should arrive in about two weeks’ time. _

A discussion followed as to the advisability of extra land, being taken for the enlargement of the croquet green, and it was generally agreed that the ladies were worthy of better consideration than in the past. The present lawn was considered totally inadequate and the general impression was that a special meeting should be called- at once to consider the matter, and secure land which had been offered at a very reasonable price. It was stated that Mrs Meßoath desired to give a further trophy for competition. The offer, was accepted with thanks.
