As far as possible, the Management Committee wish it. to be understood that arrangements as to personnel of teams, dates of matches and places of play may be left to the clubs concerned, and if no agreement can be arrived at then the conditions as laid down I must be adhered to. The personnel of teams is as follows, unless the tuo clubs agree otherwise: -1 Men’s bingies. 3 Men’s Doubles. 2 Ladies’ Singles. 2 Ladies’ Doubles. 2 Combined Doubles. Each match will be the best ol three advantage set 1 -. With regard to the personnel of the team the question tv a.-, raised a.-, to who- ; ther the last two men in the team! should not play in the two cumbii,<«i matches, a- otherwise two o/ the other i four men would play in three matches, j and the last two in one only. The ob- j jection offered to this course was that the combined pairs would not then be | the strongest players. No provision had been made in the rule restricting 1 each player to two matches. The Chairman suggested that the difficulty would be overcome by playing four combined matches. The secretary stated that the Wellington secret arv of the whole competition had advised him that the personnel should be according to strength. ; It was fgsolved to invite the other clubs in “D” group to give each player two attaches only, and failing agree- j mem to play according to strength. . The question as to how the winning j team should play in the fourth round j was left in abeyance. " Rules for ladder competitions were . drawn and will be published in next j issue. It was resolved as from Ist De- j comber to choose a team from the ladder with discretionary power to arrange the team as chosen in order to present its greatest strength. Miss O’Rourke and the secretary were elected a sub-committee, to arrange a combined handicap doubles competition, positions to be drawn for.
