MT. HECTOR TRACK.
SOME QUESTIONS. At Mr McLeod's DaTMeld meeting, Mr Bassett asked if Mr McLcod would given an idea of how the money granted for the Mount Hector track was to be expended,, and when? Was there any chance this summer.' Mr McLeod said that he knew very little about the Mount Hector track. He had been too busy at work following a hard political path, and when he had finished that he would give his attention to the comparatively simple matter of the ascent of the Hector track. The grant was arranged by Mr Field and himself with the Minister, Mr Nbsworthy, and was to be expended in the erection of a hut and improving tho track. It was left io Grey town, Carterton and Otaki to decide when the work would be done. Mr Bassett asked when the bridge given by the Government was to bo erected over the river on the Mount Hector track. It had arrived at Woodside 12 months ago, and since then its only move had been three miles further away from its site. Mr McLeod staled that he had understood from the Department six months ago that the bridge was being ".gone on with." He was surprised to find nothing done, and would immediately get on the track after it.
