FOOTBALL AMALGMATION.
TWO UNIONS’ PROPOSALS. The Shannon Football Club will j bold a meeting on Friday night to conI sider the proposals for tlie amalgamaj tion of the Manawatu and Horowhewbenua Rugby Unions. These are as follow:MAN AW AT U PROPOSALS. 1. The nama of the Union shall be (lie Maim watu-Horowlienua Rugby Union, and tlie Union shall be affiliated with tlie New Zealand Rugby Union. 2. The district under tlie control of litis Union shall comprise Ihe counties of Manawatu, Oroua, ICiwitea, Kairanga, Pohangina, Horowhenua and ! that portion of the 1-lutt County lying lo die north of Paekukariki Hill, together with the towns situated within tlie said oounlies.
3. For tlie purposes of these rules tlie portion of the Union district comprising the counties of Manawatu, Oroua, Kiwitea, Kairanga and Pohangina shall be called the Manawatu Rugby district, and the remainder of the Union district shall be called the Horowhenua Rugby district.
i. The control of all inter-club contests in the Horowhenua Rugby district shall be vested in the Horowhenua District Rugby Committee, which shall be elected according (o the rules and shall adopt the by-laws now. In force in the Horowhenua Rugby district.
5. Tlie control of all inter-club contests in the Manawatu Rugby district shall be vested in the Manawatu District Rugby Committee, which shall be elected ancording to the rales and shall adopt the by-laws now in force iri the Manawatu Rugby district. 6. The funds or the Union shall comprise (he sum of £SOO now standing to the credit of the Manawatu Rugby Union, and of the nett proceeds of all representative matches (wherever played), and of all inter-club matches conducted by the Manawatu District Rugby Committee. 7. The Horowhenua District Rugby Committee shall not be called upon to contribute any amount towards the funds of (he Union, and shall have the right to retain the proceeds of all inler-club matches and other matches conducted by the said committee in accordance with these rules. 8. In addition to controlling all in-ter-club matches, the Horowhenua District Rugby Committee shall have the right to arrange matches (hereinafter called “district matches”) between the Horowhenua Rugby district, the Rangitikei Sub-Union and the Bush Union, for the Bebbington Cup as at present, provided always that should the Horowhenua District Rugby Committee arrange a district match upon_ any day when the Union is playing a representative match, then .the Union shall have first call upon the services oi any players required for the representative match. J. The affairs ol the Union shall be controlled by the officers and Management- Committee appointed in accordance with rule. 10.

..bull be at Palmerston North, where all meetings shall be held unless otherwise arranged. 12. There shall be two selectors, lor all representativ.e teams, one to be appointed by each District Committee, and any dispute between the selectors shall be settled by the Management Committee.
it. Representative matches shall be played in the proportion of two in the | Manawatu Rugby district, to one in the Horowlienua Rugby district. 14. In each year the winners of the inter-club competition in the Horowhe- ( nua Rugby district shall play a final match with the winners of the interclub competition in the Manawatu ] Rugby district for a trophy to he provided by the Union. Such final match shall he played in the Manawatu Rugby district in alternate years. Ail Anal matches shall be under the control ot the Union, which shall take all gate proceeds and pay all expenses, including the travelling expenses ot the players taking part. ] 15. The colours ot the Union shah be green and white hooped jerseys ! and white knickers, i fg. The Union’s delegates to the New Zealand Rugby Union shall be appointed by the Manawatu District Rugbv Union in proportion to the number of teams affiliated to the Union in the respective districts.
