i * 1 j APPOINTMENT. OF JUDGES. 1 A meeting ol the committee of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association was held on Saturday, afternoon, Mr ,-v. McLeavey presiding. Judges for' the various classes were selected pending their acceptance. Tiie chairman referred to the desir- j ability of organising some form of entertainment for judges and exhibitors ■the night prior to the show, and, if desired, the first night of the show. This practice was largely followed by oilier associations, and did a lot of good through tlie exchange of opinion i between judges and breeders. The f idea was supported by other members, , and a committee consisting of the president and Messrs. G. Tally, R. V. Grown, F. H. Gorringe, F. Davies and S. A. Broadbelt was set up to report to next meeting. The work of repairing the fat cut- \ tie pens was left to the Grounds Committee, it being the opinion, that something should be done in tills way to induce fat-stock owners to 1 make j entries. The secretary was also instructed to write to Mr \V. M. Simeox, otaki, soliciting his. support in these classes providing the yards are i made suitable. i Donations of T 5 5/ each were proJ raised from Messrs. Rod. McDonald, I G. Seivers and F. H. R. Gorringe towards the Association's funds.
