WEDDING BELLS.
CREED—HOBBS. A wedding of great interest took place at St. Ann’s Church, Newtown, on Tuesday, 31st ultimo, the Rev. Father Kane officiating, when Mr Creed, of Dunedin, was married to Miss Lilian Hobbs, youngest, daughter of Mrs Hobbs, of Wellington. The bride, who was neatly dressed, was given away by her brother. Mr Dawson acted as best man. After the ceremony the happy couple proceeded to the bride’s uncle’s residence (Mr Pearce, Hataitai), where a beautifully-laid breakfast awaited them, and with several of their relations and friends present a happy time was spent. The newly-wedded couple were the recipients of many valuable gifts. Several speeches were made by many of the sporting friends by whom Mr Creed has associated with during his past football career. The happy couple left by the Main Trunk express for Auckland, Rotorua, and Waitoma, where their honeymoon will be spent.
