ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH.
VESTRY MEETING. A meeting of the vestry of All Saints’ Church was held on Monday night, the Rev, G. F. Petrie, M.A., presiding. Mr St. George (treasurer) submitted a statement of the Church’s financial position which was regarded as very satisfactory. Eulogistic reference was made to the fine work done by the ladies in connection with the recent bazaar, and it was decided to write to the Secretary of the Ladies’ Guild expressing thanks. was stated by the Vicar that nearly £IOO had been raised, that all denominations had assisted, and that the gathering was both a successful and happy one, also that a feature of the function 1 had been the Maypole dance. The Rev. Petrie added that the dancers would be | only too pleased to help at any local ! organisation. Pleasing reference was made to the good work done by Mr Best in supplying the timber and erecting stalls at the bazaar. The station school-room was brought under notice, and it was decided to have the building renovated so that meetings, concerts, etc., might be held there. Mr Askew offered to act as caretaker.
A Church hall at Otaki township was mentioned, and plans of a building, 50 ft. x 24ft., with a stud of 13ft. Gin., submitted by Mr Davies. It was agreed that finance was the stumbling block, and it was decided to soli hind, kindly given by Mr W. M. Sintcos some time ago, to help) raise the necessary money.
