CRICKET.

OTAKI CLUB. A meeting of cricketers was held im the Council Chambers last night, wlii'ii there was a record attendance. Mr A. Winterburn occupied the chair. Ir was reported that tliere was a credit balance of (is -Id from last year, together with material which, however, was well worn. The following were elected officers:Patron. Mr W. 11. Field, M.P., Presidents, Messrs ,1. P. Brandon and W. Jl. Siincox; Vice-presidents, Dr. Sharp, Messrs Byron Brown, H. C. E. Stahle, U. Witchcll, G. H. M. McClurc, C. I. Harkness. C. 11. G. Joplin, J. McGill, W. U. Siincox, C. .T. Walter, A. Lee-. K. D. Wilson. T. Walsh, G. Siddclls, L. Hansby and T. B. Bax; Secretary, Mt Giblin, pro tern; treasurer, Mr \V, 11. Grey; Management Committee, lfc*.-r-B. Ferguson, Twist, Kearns, Parker. Coleman, and Takerci; Club captain, Mr S. Parker; Delegate to Union, left to Committee; Selection Committee Messrs Twist, Parker and Kchua. It was decided to enter two teams of equal merit for the championship, the choosing to be left to the selection committee.

The subscription was fixed at 3s. 11 was agreed to have a practice o.'; Saturday (to-morrow) and to play ;i match with a Wellington team at Otaki on Monday. Judging by the interest displayed :2 last night's meeting it appear, that cricket in Otaki v.-ill be interest inf. To-morrow the practice match ?UooJd bring forth budding "knight? <>i the willow." After tho game the to play Wellington wil! be chosen.
