CROQUET.

The Levin Croquet Club opened on Wednesday when there was a splendid attendance, including quite a number of members of the Otaki Club. The green was in splendid order, and play of a jilcasing nature. Competitions were held, one prizo being won by Mrs Atkinson, of Otaki. The members of the Levin Club did all possible for the visitors and even denied themselves games so as to cater more fully for those from a distance—an act fully appreciated. Afternoon tea was served in dainty style. In consequence of the above opening the Otaki green was deserted, only three ladies being present.
