TENNIS.
The Otaki Tennis Club opened the season on Saturday in fine weather. There was a splendid attendance of the public, as "ell as members, and a most enjoyable day .resulted. Mr W. M. Simcox, in bis opening speech, referred to the fact that he was pleased to see Miss Curtis, lady champion present, reviewed the financial position of the Club which was very satisfactory, arid hoped it would have a highly successful season. His remarks were greeted with applause. The courts, thanks to the work of the energetic secretary (Mr Sid Sievers) and his committee, were in splendid order, and all games were thoroughly enjoyed. Afternoon tea, provided by the holies, was fully appreciated.
