Rev. Hedley White, of Taumaranui. has been invited to succeed Rev. S. Henderson in charge of the Tc Awainutti Methodist circuit. Mr B. Mansfield, secretary of the Palmerston North Hospital Board, who has. resigned, has been granted three month's leave of absence on full pay. Misses N. I. Kilsby (Otaki), H. P. Scanlon (Kketahuna; and C. D. Scanlon (Feilding) were at the Palmerston N. Hospital Board meeting on Friday and placed on the list of applicants a waiting appointment. Mr T. K. Overton, consulting engineer to the Central Electrical Power Board, Hamilton, and engineer to the uewly-formed Horowhenua Power Board, will leave for Australia in the course of a few day.- to examine forests there with a view to purchasing poles tor wiring purposes. Mr and Mr.- J. Baumber, of PetonC, were among the week-end visitors to Otaki. Miss Baumber is at present staying in Otaki for health reasons. Mr Baumber will well be remembered as one of the leading representative footi,;di;;r. some years ago. Miss Curtis, i*dy tennis champion. ~ave a splendid exhibition bt her powers at the opening of the Otaki Club on Saturday, her general all-round play being greatly admired. During her stav in Otaki she was the guest of Mr and Mrs C. H. G. Joplin.
