BENZINE THIEVE.
* INGENIOUS EQUIPMENT. Benzine thieves are operating in the lamilton district. During an enterainment at Te Rapa recently they paid i visit to several motor cats. However, hey tried the thefts once too often. md finally had to beat a hurried i - reat, leaving their paraphernalia in "nil working operation attached to one sur. The gear shows that the thieves are •ptitc modern in the matter of applia t:es. The benzine is extracted through ■x syphon about 3ft. long, with a pan ;> attached, being pumped from the car tank into a kerosene tin. The latter is covered with sacking to oh: cure the ordinary brightness of the receptacle. In the centre of the tube there is a tap, which is operated to stop the flow when the tin is full. When the owner in question reached his car the recptacle was flowing over.
