BURGLARY AT OTAKI.
MR LOWRY'S SHOP ENTERED. Lute on Thursday night or early oil Friday morning the business premises of Mr L. G. Lowry, stationer, were broken into and goods to the value of ol.out toll stolen. The thief or thieves •uiiiied admittance by forcing the back door, after which a "jimmy” was used on the door between the stoie-rooin and the shop. A key, evidently tried, was found near by. Once in the front portion of the shop the burglar stole large •Ilia at it ies of tobacco, cigarettes, etc., iiini also found some ftor fn ill cash. There is at present no clue. hut. the riiinntiian. who lives next door, lieurd a noise til about 12.30 a.m. on Friday, morning, but thinking it was Mr Lowly. did not trouble further. borne time ago an attempt was made to forte an entrance to Mr L.
