Mrs A. L. Moore, who was operated on during the week-is new making good progress. Mr W. H. Field. M.P.. has consented to officiate at the opening of the Anglican bazaar at Otaki on Thursday. Mr and Mrs J. Knox and family, who have been residents of Otaki for many years, leave shortly to take up residence at Auckland.
The late Thos. Sathcrley, who passed away at Kauwhata on the 26th inst.. had been a resident of Rangitikei Line for the past o 7 years, his illness confining him to l»is home for the past 12 mouths. He was a native of Shropshire, England, and came out to Nelson with his patents when only four years old, being one of the many boys who had been employed by the late Henry Redwood, of Nelson. Later he came to the Manawatu district, finally settling down at his late residence, and going through the many hardships of the pioneer days. At the starting of the Awahuri Dairy Company he offered one aero in the middle of the frontage of 30-acre farm with the right to use two valuable artesian wells for the factory to be built, for the small sum of £25, but this offer was declined, Mr Sathcrley leaves a wife, but there are no children.
