The new rcvusical programme of The Famous Diggers’ re organised girl show »»-, s packed full of tang and the rich savour of humour, delicate and breezy, piquant. yet refined. The management claims most justly that there is always an absence of anything offensive to the most puritanical of their patrons, and that is why they have come to be remitted ;,s a “family” show. Their new revue is replete with novel items, beautiful scenery, richly tinted dresses, and the song numbers have all been chosen with great discrimination. “The Kc'l Cure,” a funny sketch in which joe \ alii gets anything but rest, is most comical. “The Bride’s Trous,,.au“ serves to introduce Jimmy Norton. a really great English comedian u ho (ours New Zealand for the first time, “in Old Manilla,” a gorgeous song feature sung exclusively by Claire Cooler, will be beautifully produced with special scenery by Will Beck, who, I,v the way, is painting six most gorgeous scenes for the new programme. “The Butterfly Ballet” is a delightful repast for the eye. “The Roof Carden” scene is chock full of good things, and the girls in fantastic carnival attire make a whirling mass of variegated colour. “The Vamp, The Purse, and tlic -Man.** i-s as iitinio suggests,- a smart piece of comedy, and “Breaking into Gaol”' is one of those clever bits of satire reminiscent of 0. Henry’s stories. “Bins” is a short sketch which was recently done at the Tivoli theatre. Sydney, by Lee White, is another thing which is sure to make a hit. Latest song hits such as “Amazon,” “All by Myself,” “Whoso Baby are You.” “April Showers,” and other- will be introduced by tho Riggers ’ to the aeeompaniemcnt of their ex e client orchestra.
