Mr Clements, of Te Horo, is at present among the patients at the Otaki hospital, suffering from pneumonia. Miss Maud Johnson, who has been seriously ill for some time, has made good progress. She has now left for Rangiotu for a brief sojourn. Miss Morrison, who has been on a holiday to Otaki for the past, week, leaves to-day for her homo at Dunedin. Her sister, the well-known singer, will probably leave for home next month. Lady Jellicoe is expected in Sydney on September 25. She will be the guest ol tlie State Governor at Government- House l'or the Spring meeting festivities .and then go on to .Melbourne, says a Sydney paper. Among those at present in Constantinople are Captain and Mrs Pharazyn (lice Miss field, daughter of Mr W. H. Field, M.P.) and anxiety is being felt on their behalf. The former is a captain of the Royal Field Artillery. A recent issue of the Samoa Times said: At the conclusion of the sitting of the High Court llis Honour Judge Walker took occasion to hid farewell to Mr A. M. She was immediately removed to the Lester private hospital. and three lending doctors summoned. An operation for peritonitis was performed in the evening but the little child failed to make much headway, and passed peacefully away 0 o’clock this morning. The body lias been brought to Otaki for interment. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents.
