No less than 650 names have been . purged from the main roll at Otaki this I year on account of deaths and removals, j The Horowhenua A. and P. His curiosity being aroused he investigated and found that a stubborn motor-car was the cause of all the trouble. It appears that a local resident, while returning from a party, encountered engine trouble, and despite all efforts the catwould only go a few yards at a timeHe evidently became frantic, hence rjae cause of swear-words.
A buggy is advertised for sale. Two keys are advertised for. The last week of Messrs C. M. Ross, Ltd.. sale is now on. Messrs Harvey and Co. have a replace advertisement in this issue. Tenders for inland mail services are invited, to close a; noon on September I lili. Mr H. Cockrell advertises further reductions during M;e last few days of his winter sale. Mr Sandford, representative of the Bristol Piano Co., is now in Otaki, and orders may be left tit the Telegraph Hotel, 'phone 73. The well-known Clydesdale stallion, Buchlvire's Heir, is advertised to =tand this season. This horse is claimed to be much better than Lord Otaihanga, which leir fine stock all along the coast, iii fact is said by experienced judges Zealand.
