£260.000 LOAN PROPOSAL. CARRIED BY HUGE MAJORITY. The poll of ratepayers in the Horowheuua Hydro-Electric Power Board's district on the proposal to raise a loan of £260,000 for reticulation, advances to consumers and general preliminary worl; was taken yesterday. Of a total of just ovei 30u0 names ou the roll. 973 recorded their vote in favour of the proposal and L'ti against. At Otaki only US voted, but- it is satisfactory to know that only one vote was recorded against tire proposal. Mr ■F. G. Davies acted as returning officer. I Tolling was as follows:
