Mr Muir, late of the Bank of Xc'\ Zealand staff at Otaki, proceeded to Gisborne at the week end from "Wellington to undergo an operation for appendicitis. Mr Ben Morgan, of the Public Trust Office, Wellington, has been transferred to Christchurch, and leaves for the South to-night. Mr Morgan, who spoilt J the week-end in Otaki. is to bo congraf tulated on his promotion.
