The grandstand hall wits tastefully decorated, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent with dancing and musical items. The floor was in tip-top oomlitiow and everyone present appreciated the music -upplied by Misses N. Rikiliana and F. Be van, whilst meiribers oi the Band and Miss G. Rikihiuia played extras. During the evening Mrs R. D Ath. -diKoiri. and Misses Tallied and Be van «au-. Mr Lo?* giiv»* it r*M.: l l ution. Mr Lee rendered a monologue, and Miss G. Rikihiuia danced. Palmer pre-ented Mr Ling with a beautiful travelling rug and spoke of his popularity in appreciative terms. Mr Penman spoke al-o on behaif oi the lacing tratetiiisy and Mr ridding for the Band. Mr Ling very suitably replied. A good supper was supplied by the ladies, and a most successful evening was brought to it cl'-*e by singing ‘ ‘ Auld Lang Syne. ’' Mr and Mrs List and Mr and Mrs Len Kilmister were instrumental in arranging the function, and credit is due to them for the success of the gathering. while Mrs Cloud and Mr- Heap helped with the supper arrangements.
