Mr W. P. A. Kershaw returned to Otaki on Thursday after u pleasant cycling tour of the Wairarapa and Manawatu districts. Mr W, Ji. Field. M.P.. was among the visitors to Otaki on Saturday, being on his way to Levin to attend the Returned Soldiers' carnival. The death is reported from London of the Hon. She wa3 born in Bath, England, 90 year; ago, and came to Net*.- Zealand in 1374 in the Eailing ship Ocean Mail, and landed at Cattle Point. From 'here she went to live at the Lower Tauerti. It was while living there that her first husband, the late James Boher, was killed. Some time-after the death of her husband she went, to live in Mtst&rtoc, where &e married the l&te Mr WiUiao Mack'ersey, who died seven years ago. Deceased will long be remembered far her many acts of kinanees. She had a family of five. The eldest son. William, died in Victoria thirty years ago. The second »on, George, died at Kotorua. two years ago. The late Mrs N. Bacon, of Lanv downe, Masterton, was her second daughter. There aw only two surviving daughters. Mr Charles Frederick Atruore (son., tor, of Otaki) vras on Friday admitted as a barrister in the Supremn Cotirt by His Honour Mr Justice Hoaking, on His Wots, ••■-"-ayor (Mr J. l. Brandon) hopes to leave on holiday this week. Part of his sojourn will bo spent at Wellington, after which he Trill proceed with Mr' F. OV Davies, Borough Engineer, to Blenheim. Mr A. C. Holms writes to the Wairarapa Age that "the announcement as to the Liberal Party having decided to support me at the general election does aot mean that I have waived my claim to aot independently in my interpretation of Liberalism."
