PERSONAL.
To-day is the twenty-eighth birthday of the Prince of Wales. Mr F. T. Wilton, of the Otaki Dairy 00., is at present in the Taranaki district, combining business with pleasure. He will also visit the Wairarapa on behalf of lii.s Company. Mr Winton Brown, of the firm of Messrs Salek, Turner, and Brown, is in Otaki to-day doing business on behalf of his firm. Mr Brown will pay weekly visits to Otaki, and may be consulted at Mr Joplin’s office. Dr. Gertrude Atmore lias decided to commence practice at her residence. Domain Road, Otaki. Dr. Atmore is very well known locally, having been in charge of the Otaki Sanatorium for some time. She was also house surgeon at the Southland hospital and medical superintendent at Mercury Bay. The death has taken place at Matapu, of Mrs Jane Phillips, at the advanced ago of 91 years. The deceased lady was born in the Bay of Islands but had resided in Taranaki for many years. Mrs Phillips was a sister to Sophia, the well-known guide at Rotorua, whose death took place some time ago. Mrs W. M. Clark, of Levin, is a daughter of the deceased lady.
