LOST ON THE RANGES

TWO YOUTHS MISSING. Two Wellington youths, who set out to cross the ’1 aniruas last Thursday morning, have not since been heard of, and their lung alienee has aroused anxiety for llieir safety. They are Mr Allan Bollons, soil of Captain Bollons, of Wellington, and Mr E. J. Kime, of ltongotea, and butli are employees of the Post and Telegraph Department. They' expected reaching Otaki on Saturday night or Sunday morning, but in view of the amount of snow on the ranges, it te considered that they may have taken shelter in the Mt. Alpha hut, and remained there. So far no signs liavo been found of the youths, although it is hoped to trace them some time to-day’. Two parties, one leaving Otaki y r estcrday and the other leaving from - Grey town, are searching the ranges, while a sharp look-out is being kept by the Otaki Gorge residents. ONE OF THE YOUTHS FOUND. IN*AN EXHAUSTED CONDITION. Advice readied Olaki late this afternoon from Carterton that one of the missing men (Bollons) was found at Taulierenikau hut in an exhausted condition tit 12 o’clock last night. He was suffering severely from the effects of the cold weather. His companion (Kime) left him to go for assistance, and cannot now be found. Search parties are still out. This is confirmed by a telephone message from Wellington.
